.IMG (gta3.img) is a file that contains all models in game. In Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas there are many IMG files, one of which contains all clothing and character model.IMG files which contain this content:

• Vehicle models (Cars, Boats, Helicopters and Planes)
• Weapon models
• Character models (In Grand Theft Auto III and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City it contains protagonist Model)
• Object models (Like bus stop signs)
• Buildings and Roads

IMG files can be opened with an IMG Tool, an IMG Tool is needed to install any mods that come with new custom models
